The consequences of an undiagnosed aneurysm can be potentially very serious due to the risk of cerebral hemorrhage upon rupture. In a study published at the end of 2022, the Aneurysm Detection module demonstrated a detection rate of 100% for therapeutically relevant saccular aneurysms (size ≥ 5 mm) in the evaluation of TOF-MRA.
During development of our latest version, efficient training of the algorithm was made possible through the use of expanded training data, including fusiform aneurysms, and a revision of the AI-based algorithm. As a result, a significant improvement in the assessed (internal validation) metrics, such as F1 and DICE scores, compared to the ground truth, has been achieved.
Of course, the latest version was also tested on cases where there was a disparity in assessment between our users and our AI solution. Again, we achieved a significant improvement across all relevant metrics.
As with all products in the md-suite, all analyses are added easily into concise reports and are available in less than 5 minutes. The Aneurysm Detection module can be easily added for existing customers. For new customers, we are more than happy to provide consultation and provide insights into the other features of mdbrain.
